Do you think the shorter sectors of two or three weeks will prove a popular alternative to a winter Caribbean cruise?
What about Azura and the opportunity of Freedom Dining? Will that remove some of the potential pitfalls of short-termers and worldie people looking for different types of holiday experience?
Booking opens in 2 weeks - should anyone interested book immediately or wait until nearer the time - 18+ months in advance seems a long time, except maybe for special one-off events?

If you are happy to take pot luck on what cabin you get then you could wait and see... The world cruise is never sold out and so there is always room !! but as you say the smaller segments will be popular... if its a must do segment then book if you can risk it you could sit and wait... bookings are a bit down and if you watch and watch the various sites that show available cabins and prices etc you could bag a bargain around the invoice time.. 12 weeks before ...
We have done segments and they are different. The regulars arnt HOLIDAY makers they are more like travelers escaping winter at home. I loved the photo ~cruisa~ took of Harlequins on Oriana last year when at 11pm it was empty !!! and closed.

Often they sit you for dinner ( club) with others on the same segment as you are .. well thats what happened when we sailed .

That is how P&O are going to marketing them - as winter cruises, not worldie sectors. No reason why they shouldn't be popular if you don't mind fly-cruising though.

A couple of years ago we were waiting for Aurora to be split down into sectors but because the world cruise was so popular they hardly released any sector cabins and we were unlucky.

We have done 2 now on Arcadia and have always booked on the day bookings opened, and there wasn't a huge choice of cabins available in any of the cabin grades.
