Shore excursion, are they all the same no matter the Cruise Line.

On some site's when you write a review you are asked to grade the trips taken. But how can there be much difference when it is the same buses and the same guide whether you are with RCI, Princess or P&O. I have asked a few guides and they have confirmed they work for a number of cruise lines.

So how can they be graded if they are the same experience. The prices are not the same however with some lines being considerably cheaper. P&O are certainly cheaper than Princess as I have compared prices for a similar cruise with a friend who was on Princess.

After cruising for 10 years we dont bother with many trips, but it is interesting to know how poeple can give them a score and why they are different.

Surely you are scoring them on the basis of the trip itself - how good it was, how good the guide was etc. ? Not comparing them against other lines. That's how it works on Cruise Critic anyway.

Yes but then people then people use those numbers to compare ships and lines. Does not seem logical to me.

Trips can be personal.. according to what interested YOU have.. how good the guide is etc etc... you can only say what YOU think. We did the ww2 tour in Belgium last year... war graves and Menin Gate isnt to everybody's taste but two elderly gentlemen were so taken by our guild and the tour they gave him 10 euros each.. as they thanked him.. It was a good tour we enjoyed it... but maybe others might not..
BUT if like a review on Amazon.. you read the feedback and judge for yourself.
